Yes. Chinese users can only find and download Douyin (Chinese version of Tik Tok) while overseas uses only have access to Tik Tok, the international version. The two apps, though owned by the same company ByteDance, are actually separate systems, where content for the same search words are different and users of each are not able to interact with the other one
